About Living Spirit Yoga
Living Spirit Yoga is a style of hatha yoga developed by Nathan Hayes, and is rooted in the traditions of Ashtanga, Iyengar & Kripalu Yoga, lineages which Nathan has studied and practiced for decades. In a container of awareness and compassion, practitioners balance strength and suppleness, willfulness and surrender, activity and rest. You will experience a renewed sense of vibrancy, wholeness, and an inspired engagement in life.
In its asana practice, appropriate emphasis is placed on structural mechanics and form, lines of energy, the role of the breath, the integration of the internal organs, and the art of letting go. Through the practice of Living Spirit Yoga, students learn a wide variety of poses, flowing and organic posture sequences that challenge but not deplete, and leave with a sense of renewal and contentment. Our approach in meditation is in the Buddhist Theraveda tradition as it has been passed on in the states predominantly through the Insight Meditation Society.
